I was slamming, pool was a little green when I took the cover off. Been sitting 3 days now with cover off waiting for the FC to come down. Also heating the pool. I did the test according to the directions and got 2CC it did smell strong of chlorine yesterday. Today no smell still high on fc though.
Why is the FC elevated?

Were you doing a SLAM?

Did you have CC before the FC was raised?

If no, then the CC seems very unlikely.

Do you have a SWG or a liquid chlorine feeder?

Are you adding chlorine manually?

Did you add too much unintentionally?
I am getting ready to add a SWG. I was trying to get the water balanced. I also have 5000 ppm of salt in my pool. Have to drain every year due to high salt content in city water

Just tested tap water before water softener. 1400 ppm of sodium. After softener again 1400 ppm. The softener tops the pool up. Outside of my high FC level with this high supply of sodium be a pain to deal with when I start using my SWG?

How did you test Sodium? Most tests are for Chloride. That level in tap water is pretty high. Are you on a well? Where in Arizona?

Your salinity may increase a bit over the year. Mine does. But then I harvest some rain water in the winter to reduce it.

It is well water, I'm in buckeye. Sorry it was the salinity test from my tf100 pro salt kit. 10ml of water, one drop of 0630 and 7 drops of 0718 to turn brick color. That happened instant from a yellowish color to brick.

City does treat the water then it gets sent to my house.

Still seems high. Just monitor your salinity. The IC will work fine up to 4500 ppm or so.
