Geegaw, Wow, the pool looks great. Well done, We're so happy for you.
Just a quick remember when the stabilizer you added yesterday starts registering to be sure and raise and maintain your FC level at just a slightly higher number so you don't risk getting algae.
For 70ppm CYA per the chart your range will be min 3 and Target 5, so with your hot sun there in Texas, I'd suggest shooting for at least the target of 5, OR perhaps shooting for just slightly above like 6 or 7ppm to have a little extra cushioning from the sun depletion.
Other than that everything looks great, and you've learned so well. Have a wonderful day, Geegaw, and enjoy your beautiful pool, you've earned it.
While we do say that TA can be slightly lower than the typical range, being at 50 is about as low as you might want to go. A little baking soda is probably a good thing, especially seeing that your pH is high and you need to use acid now to lower the pH which will also lower the TA once again.
Also Geegaw, I just wanted to mention you might want to keep a close eye on your CYA level, in case it continues to rise on you, so it doesn't get too far ahead of what the SWG is able to keep up with. We want you to not have any more algae issues, and I know you don't either.
It is recommended that you wait at Least 30mins between adding different chemicals. With the pump on the entire time to circulate. If you just added chlorine then wait 30 mins, and add MA, then wait at least 30 more mins after adding the MA to add the baking soda. I hope this helps. Have a wonderful day Geegaw .
30 minutes before adding the MA. Baking soda is harmless so it can go in any time. Actually, put the BS in now as well so the TA come rise a little before you hit it with acid soon.
