Just joined up and hoping to learn more about looking after our pool better. Have been relying on trichlor for years and not had too many problems apart from having to deal with some algae issues in the past which were resolved by learning how to shock properly. We do our own cleaning and maintenance due mainly to budget constraints but it's a huge subject and a bit daunting when we start reading some of the advice out there. It's very hot and sunny here much of the year and we are in a fairly remote exposed location close to the sea with fairly hard mains water although much better than the well water we had for many years.
