We mistakenly added 4lbs of YellowOut to our salt water pool and now can’t keep the levels up. Is the only option to drain the pool? Will the sun deplete the yellow out? If so, how long does that normally take? Can we shock it out?
Yes. Sorry.
With a vinyl liner, you cannot drain completely. You might wish to consider a no drain exchange or be prepared to do many 18" or so drain and refills.

Correct. The bromide uses the chlorine you add to turn into bromine. Bromine is not protected from UV by CYA, so it is quickly consumed by UV. So when you can test FC after adding liquid chlorine, the bromide bank is little to non-existent. You will need to exchange a lot of water.

So I am told the product you used is likely NOT sodium bromide. It is likely ammonium sulfate. So you can eliminate this using chlorine. Lots of it. Up to you.
Do you have the container that the Yellow Out came in?
