Best to leave pump on but incase it's off all night then make sure it's on a good 30 minutes before you take a sample
Pump has been on 24/7 since opening pool. Lost a ton of chlorine overnight. I even closed auto cover last night which I’ve not been doing. We have a lout of yuck in air evidenced by green gunk on siding of everyone’s homes. Just trying to test all my theories. Failed lolBest to leave pump on but incase it's off all night then make sure it's on a good 30 minutes before you take a sample
So I’ve been doing more reading on your forums. I happened to recheck my CYA today. It has gone down a bit. I can’t explain that, BUT that does now explain why I’ve been losing FC. I’ve been SLAM to 20 based on 50 CYA. Tonight, I adjusted to 16, so I am hoping to see improvement. I still lost quite a lot today, but read the more you have the more you lose, so eager to see OCLT tonight.Did I just read in one of your threads that it is normal to lose about 1/2 of your FC on a normal sunny day? So it would make sense when you are Slaming, if you are not home to add chlorine, that your chlorine loss would be a lot more that if you were simply at a 7ppm FC? So I should expect to lose significant chlorine during the day if I’m not able to make additions and this isn’t necessarily that Godzilla is in the pool? Learning so much!
Ok. Sun was at back, but not super bright. If that’s the case, I probably need to increase. slam. Dang. I am still brushing fine brown dust off floor. Sludge in my Robot screen when I clean it.Nope, FC needs to lose <=1 FC. Oddly, on the CYA, My pool seems to lose CYA more rapidly than others. Opened and added enough to get to 70. During my weekly testing today (early morning), my CYA was 50!!! Until I remembered I need to have bright sun at my back. Retested after the sun was up, it was 70. Didn't lose anything. Maybe try again with sunlight at your back.
I did mine last year at the height of pollen season.Well if I don’t have algae what the heck am I doing lol!!! For realz! Could this just be all the crazy pollen and spring Crud right now. I’m mean, I believe I DID have algae, but I’ve been at this 2 weeks. And look at my pool. The Crud falling from the trees right now is insane though.
what is an auto fill? Automation of some sort? I have quite a bit of automation but not anything for water chemistry. I’d love that. Im nervous was we will be gone several weeks this summer. Neither does good job for me. But, if something I should look into, let me know. Tomorrow mornings dose maybe I will add straight to skimmer. Worth a try?Do you have an autofill?
And yeah, if I was slamming 8 days every two hours (even 5 days if you subtract the fact I didn't see the ladder (when my OCLT flattened at 2.)), given your dosing schedule, I'm only a little surprised at two weeks. The only think that tells me we are missing something is that your pool is soooo clear. Usually clearing is last.
