Help with SLAM

Cover it. Won't make a difference either way (you are at 12ppm chlorine lol). Is the Pontiac High School Year Book still called "The Pontio" (that's what it was called in the 1930's)?
I’m not sure. Probably! I asked my husband. He graduated in 85 and it was still called that 😀. Is your fam still there?

Yes. Flanagan. Lots. Few work in Bloomington...something about insurance...:ROFLMAO:

I walked beans and de-tasseled corn as a kid in Flanagan and Long Point. Still remember the old Pontiac pool (Camp Humistan). Was closed in 2002. Have pics of my dad swimming there in the 1930's.

All of my pedigree that immigrated from Germany are buried within 50 miles of you. All my mother's family came from Germany in the 1850-1870s. Some smaller portion of my father's family are also buried within 50 miles of you.

Skimmer opening is 5 inches. Water is 3 inches from bottom of opening, so a bit over 1/2. Beautiful morning. Sun giving bad glare.

So, yes, don't have to do it now, but I would drain 3/4" from the pool at some point. That will allow you to skim at lower RPM and save some $. Likely not much $, but it will make skimmer more efficient. Do you have a sump pump that you can use? Not really recommended to drain with the pump. I got a cheap one and use it all the time to drain and aerate.

You are certainly getting there. Still a bit of haze / lack of clarity, but you are getting closer. If you have the time to check every two hours, that would be great and speed results.

One last thought. Did you happen to notice your the pressure on your filter after you cleaned? If so, if your pressure rises by 25% (Filter pressure clean at 1800 = 20, current pressure 25) you will want to clean the filter again. My guess is, given the state of your pool, you are fine. When SLAM is done, I would clean the filters again and note your baseline pressure and RPM. Log it in pool math as a note or put it on a sticky somewhere.

You will get this!

Even at 2200 rpm my psi is barely 5. Even with a filthy filter it barely moves above 10 or 15 and it’s not been that high yet this start up. I do think the filter I have might be a bit oversized for my pool, not that it’s an issue.

Great! Love me a big filter!!

@KristaM78 Hope all is going well. Checked your logs. Something must be wrong with your poolmath setup.

To raise your FC from 11-12, in an 11,200 gallon pool, you only need to add 12 oz. Yet you added 57. You also had an earlier add that was too high. Being above slam level doesn't help or make it go faster, and is a waste of chlorine.

Maybe check your pool size? In Pool Math, from the home screen click the gear in the upper right hand corner and check your pool size.

Hi. I was just getting ready to post. I raised my slam because I tested my cya and I am reading 40 -50. I hate the cya test. When I first tested the other day at the 30 line, I could see the dot as if it was pure water. I set my CYA to zero and added exactly what it said to add but now I’ve turned my back to the sun and held it at my waist as I always do and it 50 I can only see the mark if I really really squint so I did purposefully raise my slam target. This is 45.

Finally got home, using phone is hard. Pool looks like it is getting there. This ^^ was a great catch! That's what I meant you were SMART!

One thing you can do that will help. Go to Pool Math home page. Click on the gear in the upper left, scroll down to sharing and enable link from TFP.com user profile. Anyone can get to your logs through your profile. Click on my name to the left (phone) or hover over my name (pc) and you will see blue button for my logs. If you enable it, anyone can see it this way and help.

Crossing my fingers!

I thought I had that enabled? This is my only option.

I'm not sure, only thing I can think is that you have one profile you created on the phone and another online?

Let's ask @Leebo or @mknauss. I'm sure I will learn something new.

From the home screen in the pool math app, upper left corner, click the three parallel lines. Does it say "welcome back KristaM78"?

No. It just says welcome back.
