I have a Hayward S180T sand filter. Is the design flow rate the maximum? I have a Hayward W3SP1580 Power Flo Pool Pump that was suggested to me by someone at a pool store. This pump is a 60 gpm pump. If the designed flow rate listed as 34 gpm does this make it dangerous. I have it connected by 1.5 inch 3 foot hose. When you look at the manual it says the max recommended system flow rate by pipe size is 45 gpm. I am just trying not to do something dangerous. Any help would be appreciated.

So a follow up question then, because I am totally unsure of any of this. If I have a 3 foot 1.5 hose hooked up this will restrict the pressure and that is fine? If I look at the diagram below it says max should be 45 gpm.
