Here are my readings. I am confused because on TA it says I need to add acid to reduce ph and TA but when I click on ph it says to add borax to raise.
What should I do?
Welcome to the forum!
How did you test your pool water chemistry?
You need to add chlorine. The TA is not significant with a lower CH and I suspect a vinyl liner pool. The pH in the 7's is perfect.
I suggest you read ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry.
I used the Taylor K-2005 kit all except for the chlorine test. For that I used the FAS-DPD test kit.
Thank you! I have been fighting mustard algae. Right now there is no visible sign of it other than occasional water bugs near my steps. Our pool is a 27’ above ground.
So for now, do I add chlorine and not worry about the other 2 readings?
I read about it and plan to do it soon. The CH reading came from the local pool store test ( computerized). I just received my testing kit yesterday so I am still figuring everything out.
From here on out I plan to test my water myself. I have learned so much already from reading the articles on the trouble free site. Thank you for helping.
