HELP- New owner, I must be doing something wrong

Alright. Lowered CyA with water replacement.

Here are are current results.

CyA - 50
PH - 7.5
Cl - 0 still
TA - 100
CH is up at 550 but I’m not convinced I did the test right

can you guys confirm what the pool math calculator is saying.
4 gallons bleach or 3lbs 11oz tricolor (I think that’s the extra blue). To raise FC to 20

im not sure what else to do to SLAM it though

You don't say what bleach concentration you have.

I come up with 313 oz of 10% liquid chlorine to raise to 20 ppm. You then will test FC and dose back to 20 ppm every hour or so start.

You cannot, and should not, use solid chlorine to SLAM Process

Marty is right, do not use anything other than liquid chlorine aka bleach - use the PoolMath link and enter in the % strength to determine how much.

Ignore the hardness test for now.

Focus on getting your chlorine level up. That's the main aspect of SLAM - raising your FC level up to your shock level and holding it there. Does this make sense?

It does, I have to go buy the bleach tomorrow so I will adjust before purchase to make sure. I’m still moving in too so wife pulled me away tonight to instal some curtains and rebuild a vanity so I couldn’t get to the store in time tonight.
