I'm trying to be patient...not sure how well it's working :)

Yes, ma'am! Lots of pictures and details as they come along. I need to have something to show besides all the talk!

This is probably the longest thread about absolutely nothing, although definitely not as entertaining as Seinfeld, which is a show about absolutely nothing :)
I honestly never thought things would take this long to get under way.

This thread has every emotion in it, wow!!! Great to hear that your excavation is near.

Down here, the big pool building push is "gotta be ready for Christmas" and I suppose yours is "gotta be ready for spring". I couldn't help feeling for the builders and tradies with all the specialized skills they bring, and the massive push towards Christmas (they got more than a little testy at times, mostly between one another, haha). Then I think they end up with a three+ month dead period toward end of autumn and beginning of winter.

Particularly amazing were the concreters who could do as many as three pools in one day if everything went perfectly, but usually two per day. Beautiful job too. Amazing bunch of people.

Have fun with it!!

Needsajet- Our seasons are opposite for sure! It must be difficult for the warm season to hit around Christmas since Christmas is so hectic and busy as it is.

Congratulations on your new pool!!

I THINK excavation is around the corner...every night I go to bed thinking, "maybe they'll be here tomorrow". One of these days it'll be true :)

You ARE getting closer... I can feel it! We had to wait much longer than I had initially wanted (had intended to build in October), but in the end I think it is working out better this way. In the middle of things it's hard to see the reason, but I'm sure by the end when everything turns out great for you and you look back, you'll be able to see the "big picture" and it will all be worth it. I'm praying for that for you!

Thanks Jamie! I know all things work for the good...

On today's episode of "When will my lines be moved?"... I called PSO to see if they could give me some idea of where we are in the work crew's schedule and was told that there is no work order for any line movement/replacement for our property. My order# is traceable up to Dec 15 but there's nothing after that date. The engineer I was dealing with had called me on Dec 28 and said she was sending the order to the work crew and maybe they would be out around Jan 18....

It was suggested that I call the engineer. I have a call in to her now....

Engineer called back (she's so nice!) and is looking in to it. My work order number is different than what I had. I had the original from my initial request.

The he work crews are behind due to all the rain and an ice storm out in western Ok back in late Dec that they had to send a lot of crews to help. She said it should be happening soon and she would follow up and get back to me.

Next week Terminix is coming to pull up our termite baits from around the side and back of the house to be replaced when construction is completed.

Today being Monday and my day off, I called the PSO engineer to follow up on our conversation from Thursday. She returned my call to let me know she hadn't heard back but would resend a msg to the woman who does the scheduling. Later that afternoon she called me and said we would have a crew here to run the new electric line tomorrow or Wednesday. I'm working the next 2 days, so hopefully I will be able to tell the work was done without having to call the engineer again. I feel like I'm being a pest.

I also got the administrator of the assisted living center behind us to agree to letting the PB access our yard from their parking lot. My neighbors will be happy! I promised to bring goodies for the residents. I think I'll take the oldest 2 grandchildren with me to deliver them.

Texted all this info to the PB whose only reply was to keep him posted. Lol! I was hoping he'd tell me we are digging next week!

It's getting closer :)

Sounds like it's coming soon!

I know! And I still have so many things to nail down. I'm not usually so indecisive but the design details with this jubilee is proving to be a bit nerve wracking!

That's some great progress, Denise! Don't feel like a pest... You're just being sweet but persevering! :) And if you don't do to who will?!

True, true, Jamie! But, hopefully, they leave their markings or at least a visible dig line :)

Im surprised you have that system for termites is it expensive? Just down here they dig a trench around the home and pour some funky stuff for about 1200 or you get a day worker to dig the trench around the house then dump the gunk around the permitter. Cant wait to see your pool

nini, you are persistent, not a pest. They have "taught" you how to work with them. IF they had answered you when you first called..............

NICE job on getting them to let you use their parking lot! Now make sure it is cleaned up BY THE WORKERS every day as in loose stuff stacked and no big messes left back there. Cute idea to take the grands with you to bring goodies!

Kim

It's so exciting when they finally excavate. Then it rains and its mud. And there's lots of mess. Don't let any of that "mess" steal any of your joy! It all gets cleaned up and disposed of in the end.
You are fortunate that you have access through the assisted living. We had to go through part of our neighbor's yard. I was so appreciative that they allowed it, but I worried constantly about their yard and how it was affecting them.
Luckily I have super fantastic neighbor's, but it can be stressful.enjoy your build. It will probably only happen once! [emoji3][emoji3]

Hey being persistent is the way to go! If you weren't they wouldn't do anything. I always try to be nice when I call and am persistent but I also make sure they know that I want timeframes. I don't think my pool would be done right now if it wasn't for me constantly asking when stuff would be done.
