Hello from an excited Newbie in Bixby Oklahoma!!

This line that belongs to Cox, does it just supply your house or does it supply others with a signal?

If it was me, I would cut the cable and let the guys go to town with the backhoe. If it interrupts customers service, they will get someone out right away to fix it.

Its not like you haven't tried to give them the opportunity to plan there work.

As it happens, we are NOT Cox customers (and will never be in this lifetime!)

I hope you have been logging all of your calls-----date, time, who, etc. It is on THEM! If the line is cut by accident they will be on the hot seat!

HUGS and more hugs to get you through this

Kim

The guy I spoke with today (whom I FINALLY have a call back # for and some accountability) mentioned something about us being charged if the line gets cut. I have absolutely no intention of paying anyone. I made that very clear. I told them if I didn't get some action on this I would be contacting a local news station that solves consumer problems.

Kim- I appreciate the hugs! Sure needed them today :)

Thanks Jamie! I appreciate the prayer! I am certainly praying as well!
I'm normally a very upbeat, not easily ruffled, patient person. This has certainly tested all of those qualities!! I detest and try to avoid confrontation at all cost, so this has been difficult for me to handle. However, in the grand scheme of life and eternity, this is all circumstantial and unimportant. It'll all get done eventually. :)

Adding you and your family, build, and coming baby to my prayers as well!

Denise, I admire and echo your perspective on all of this. Not to say that it's always easy to remind oneself of it when in the heat of frustrations, worry, and disappointment. All this crazy stuff gives us good practice though!

Thank you for your prayers. They are much appreciated. I'll keep mine up for smoother sailing for your build.

I'm hoping to need less practice in the near future!:calm::angel::hammer:

Our pool builder told us cable generally does get cut. Our neighbor's did get cut, unfortunately. They came right away and replaced it with new fiber optic. The bobcat ran over the line simply from the ruts it made. Those cables are not buried very deeply. It was very stressful as I hated to inconvenience my neighbor.
Our PB said generally once it's cut, they come and replace with above ground cable until after the build. Then they bury it afterwards. He seemed to insinuate that it is often cut because it is so close to the surface.
And of course that proved to be true. [emoji3]

Denise, hang in there, visualize floating in a beautiful pool in a few months...:paddle:

I'm working on it! All these new builds sure help. I just love seeing the dream of others come true :)

That is what I was thinking, but my sister and her husband own a plumbling company, and she told me that they will come after me to pay to fix that cable. She said they will continue to Bill me and harass me until they get their money and even send it to collections if I don't pay. She said it's happened to them on jobs they've been on. I don't want that to happen.

Water heater done! My brother in law is a plumber and was able to run by. Simple fix, hope it stays that way!

Gary from Cox cable just called. He's coming by about 3 to "take a look".....

Good thing the hot water thing happened! I was supposed to have a hair appt and work from 3-7. I cancelled both since I didn't know when my BIL could get here or how involved or long the fix would take! Blessings in disguise!

Do you have an email address for anyone at Cox cable? If you can create an email trail to prove that you notified them in plenty of time to allow them to move the cable, you should be covered.

Guess I really did finally talk to the right person yesterday!! 2 Cox guys in one afternoon afyer no one communicating with us in weeks!
Chris from Cox was just here (he didn't know Gary was scheduled to come at 3), he looked everything over, looked at both my neighbors yards, looked where the flags and spray paint are placed and declared that their "main" line is within the easement (it is) and the smaller "drop" line running through the pool dig site is NOTHING. He said he doubts anything is there, and if it is, it's not connected to anything. He verified where my neighbors connections are and this has nothing to do with their feed, and since we don't have cable, it won't affect us. He is going to call Gary and let him know.
He had no idea why anyone marked where they did!

Finally, resolution!

Thanks for for the suggestion, Chief! The email would have just gone to their giant general email and then filtered to local areas. I finally found someone local yesterday (got a name and phone number, too) and looks like he really kicked some tail in gear for me!

If this rears it's ugly head again, I will know exactly who to call.

Now waiting for PSO to show up. Was hoping for today but it is bitterly cold here...well, at least for Ok it's cold! 37deg brrr

Whoo-hooo! Finally some action and positive results! I am so happy for your progress and had to smile at the "blessing in disguise" that kept you home to get the call. God works in mysterious ways! :)
