Hello from an excited Newbie in Bixby Oklahoma!!

I'm at work (on lunch and peeking in at everyone but no real time to comment) and hubby just texted that PSO is there right now, the trench has been dug, our power is off and the new cable is being run :)

Thanks friends! It's finally done and now we can move on.

Yey that is awesome! What about the cable company?

It ended up being a nonissue.

Texted the PB once the electric was done. He was surprised it got done in one day. I have no idea why he would think it would take longer. When asked, he said we could dig next week if the weather holds.
Extended forecast looks good!

Congratulations!! That's a great feeling when the hurdles controlled by the faceless/utility/government/etc. entities have been passed! Weather challenges are something you can live with and understand, but now you and your PB can move it along. That moment was a big ole "Phew" for me!

LOL the PB is used to dealing with them............nothing goes as planned, they forget parts, they take many breaks, they leave and do not come back, etc! THAT is why he was surprised they got done in one day!

Lol! Kim you are probably right!!
Hubby didn't realize that there is a whole contingent of folks he notified when he texted me :). He doesn't quite get it so I have spared him the details :)

Had another meeting with the PB today. I'm trying to nail down the details, but it is proving difficult for me. He is supposed to get back with me tonight on some details and finally set the dig date :)
So far, it looks like we will dig either Thursday or the following Monday.

It looks like things are finally gonna get started!

Glad you're nailing it down. My experience was PB: "don't worry, be happy, we can decide on the day," and then "it's always done this way," and the pool finish guy, when asked by my wife if we could lighten the finish by reducing the blue beads a little: "no problem, we can decide on the day," and then on the day "it's all decided by the computer and can't be changed." Good fun!

nink? what details are you having a hard time with? You KNOW I will help! LOL

Kim

I'm having a hard time picking my stone. Part of the reason is trouble with my eyes.
I don't care for any of the flagstone choices. It's rough and I think I will constantly gouge and bruises myself climbing in and out of the spa.
I like the colors of travertine :/
I inquired about a travertine cap on the spa, of course, it's more money.

So, stone is my issue.
Can you be here tomorrow around 10, Kim? We can head to the stone yard and you can be my eyes.

I did make some decisions on the pool today, such as deck color, waterline tile, and plaster.

He's figuring up a small wall with 3 waterfalls in place of the pedestal with the fire/water bowls. It's cheaper but still pretty. However, it involves stone...which I haven't picked out yet.

I need a pool decorator...Kim....

Sorry to hear about your troubles, Denise. Look on the bright side that you were able to pick your deck color, tile and plaster. That was no small feat!

What did you end up choosing for the plaster? Isn't it a Gemstone product? I was going to look back at your thread today because that manufacturer is on the table now for me to decide between with the plaster guy I'm using. More decisions! I know what you mean about needing a pool decorator.

Jamie, I am going with Adiantum Fusion in Topaz. Yes, it's a Gemstone product. It comes with the shells and beads in it.

If if you look at martinkennedy's build, his is also Radiant Fusion but the color is Royal Blue. I compared the two samples and they are SOOOO close in color.

That sounds like it will be really really pretty! I don't think we'll be upgrading to anything with glass in it, but we may get the shells. Right now it's between StoneScapes Tropics Blue which already has some shells in it, or maybe MicroFusion Laguna (like Radiant Fusion, but without the glass. I think it might have some shells though.) We are trying to keep things within budget, and my "splurge" was the glass trim tiles on the steps.
