Heater Bypass

Mine is plumbed without a bypass as well (unless you consider the pressure vacuum port a bypass) but they did use the Versaflo connections. This really has to do with the plumber that is on the job. I would have loved to have a heater bypass but I didn't know enough to ask at the start of my build.

Afternoon. So quick question. Going though a new pool build. Builder is using Jandy JXi. Any reason why they wouldnt have plumbed it without a bypass or using the addon of the Versaflo?

Thanks!
Chad

I built with Hauk and I did the VersaFlo Bypass. I believe I had to ask them to install it. I believe the bypass is extra money.

I absolutely love my Jandy heater, I heat my spa probably 2-3 times a week and barely notice a big bump in energy costs.

I mean this video pretty much sums up why if you are getting a Jandy JXI you should install the bypass:

I believe Jandy doesn't recommend using a plumbed bypass for the JXi. My pool guy warned against it, and Jandy documentation I found confirm it. Maybe due to SWG?, but both said that stale water will decrease the lifespan of the element. The Versaflo (or built in one) isn't a traditional plumbed bypass, it still allows a % of water to circulate through the elements.
