I have been tryng to get a plumber to install a Hayward pump and filter all summer. The issues are that this is a 50 year old cement in-ground pool without skimmers. I cannot seem to find a skimmer for anything but above ground pools. Can the intake just be a screen and then use a floating skimmer? No-one wants the liability for a non-traditional setup.

How does water get in and out of your pool now? The pump has to suck water from somewhere and it has to return water to the pool somewhere.
