Hayward Control Panel problem?

My Hayward control panel has been saying “check salt” and “check cell.” My salt level is fine (about 3400) and I was told I needed to replace my salt cell (T15). And so I did.

Now with a brand new salt cell, my control panel still thinks my salt’s low (but it’s not). The reading seems to fluctuate between zero and 2400, and as a result it won’t generate chlorine.

If the salt level is good, and the cell is brand new, I think it must be a problem with the control panel. Do the control panels ever go bad? How big a deal is it to have it repaired?

Welcome to TFP.

Yes, Hayward control panels go bad.

Which model control panel do you have? Aquarite? Aquaplus? Prologic? OnmiLogic?

Go to the diagnostic screen, note the readings and then press the + button to reverse the polarity.

When the new numbers appear, see what they are.

Then, press + again and note the new readings.

Report all readings.

What are the first seven characters of the cell and box serial numbers?

What is the actual salinity and how are you measuring it?

What is the flow rate?

Is the cell horizontal?

Do you have pictures of everything?
