Thursday: I have a 24' round above ground pool which holds around 14,000 gallons of water. It has rained quite a bit in the last 2 weeks and my once blue water is green and I have been to the pool store 3 times. I have put in 14 bags of granular shock.., 5 at a time.. had water tested.. Answer-- everything is good 5 more lbs. 2nd time-- put in 5 more granular shock as directed 2 days later 2 bags... No change
3rd time--
Pour 1 bottle of algaecide in pool. Wait 24-48 hours then add more shock. Result as of today: nothing has changed

I am so happy to see blue after 3 weeks of dark green murky. I know I'm not finished and still following direction of slamming and reading and following chart but I am thrilled to see the blue! Any suggestions, or do I keep following the slamming directions? I am so happy I found this site! Finally getting results without spending lots of money for chemical I don't need!
Monday:
pool still blue but FC hasn't changed and PH has risen ????? Still using scanning strips! Kit has not come. Checked pool again! Here are levels? Do I try to get ph down first? I put in values in Pool Math on this site and target level 20 for FC and total Chlorine. It also says to lowers ph, but I didn't know if it applies to slamming the pool.
Total hardness 500
FC 10... I need a 20. For a CYA LEVEL OF 50. Pool calculator on this site says to add 291 oz of 6% bleach
TC..10
*PH 8.4* do I need to lower this first before putting bleach in? I know levels are erratic when adding bleach (shock)
Alkalinity: 120
CYA: 50
