GLASS MEDIA ???

I'd like some opinions on the use of glass media in a sand filter, as opposed to silica sand or filter balls.
Opinions, suggestions, experiences would be most helpful.

It’s very expensive and doesn’t seem to filter any better than normal sand. I use it in mine though. Technically the glass was made from the sand originally so I guess there’s some recycling benefit into it, maybe?
