Gaps in concrete decking around pool - best options to fill them?

Our pool is fairly old, but seemingly in decent shape. We are a few years minimum from bein able to resurface or do further upgrades and renovations. We moved here 2 years ago, and the concrete deck around the pool is in decent shape, but the grout or similar between pieces has deteriorated and I’m concerned water will continue to get in there and start to separate the pieces further.

Id appreciate any advice/suggestions on what to fill these gaps with. Ideally something on the economical side as we would replace the entire decking in a few years.

may ini USA thought was some type of caulking or rubber type material, but I’m not sure what makes sense given it’s contact with water and exposure to elements.

a few pics of the gaps are shown. There was something there, but it’s deteriorated, and the only suggestion received from a local pool guy was deck-o-seal, which looked like it would be quite expensive for the amount we would likely need.

thanks!

The most common flexible sealant used is...

If you order it online make sure you get fresh material. It has an expiration date on it and becomes hard to use.

Foam backer rod from Lowes and self leveling concrete crack filler.

Do not fill an expansion joint with concrete crack filler. It will put pressure on the pool structure and lead to pool and tile cracking. You need to use a flexible mastic product.

Check out the thread below. @pool_dufus did a great write up on filling his expansion joint as a DIYer...
