Fort Worth, TX New Pool Build (North Texas)

Hi All,

I've got some catching up to do as we broke ground on Feb 1st with our pool build here in the North Texas area. Baja Shelf is 9" Deep and secondary shelf is 15" deep. Design pictures attached below. We were in the $100k range with everything below. Any other critique or help would be beneficial! We're currently in the gunite curing stage going on 2 weeks this coming Friday - March 19th.

Salt Water for sure! We'll have a SWCG, I need to ask the PB the size of however just to make sure.

At least 2x the pool's volume. Then you can run it short periods and stilll get all the FC you need yet hopefully extend the lifespan of the cell.

Thats what I've been told. I'll ask them tomorrow for sure. Were in the gunite curing stage right now, lost a week due to the winter storm we had down here in mid February.

Since your using Jandy equipment you builder will probably use a Jandy SWCG. Get the PLC1400, its the biggest they make and rated for 40,000 gallons. Don't get the Nature2 Fusion Soft. It is the same SWCG but is combined with a mineral cartridge that adds metals to your pool. You do not want this.

We're in the gunite curing stage so no movement since the gunite was poured on March 5th. Was told 28 days for curing.

We didnt have to wait that long, we have our tile installed already and waiting on plumbing and electrical this weekend.

Wow. There's a well known builder in our area that has pools completed in 45 days from dig, they are definitely not curing the gunite.

Concrete in general takes 28 days to completely cure. They can proceed with other work while the concrete cures. You only have to wait a week or so for concrete to be cured enough to move forward with building on it(house, pool etc).

They are probably just telling him they aren’t working on it for 28 because everything is behind. Tile and coping labor is in extremely tight supply so some pool builders are quoting 6-10 weeks from gunite to tile.

My gunite was done in Feb and tile and coping is scheduled for April, to worst case scenario mid May. I’m hoping with the next 10 days supposed to be rain free crews can get back on track and timelines can move up.

Electrical was primarily finished today and stone / tile was dropped off yesterday morning.

Quick question I saw they installed a paramount Ozone even though this wasn’t in our contract / equipment list. Not sure how it ended up in our hands. Any concerns as were a salt system?
