How do I check the flow rate through a Sta-Rite Max-E-Therm 400? Is there a flow meter that I could install temporarily in place of the water pressure switch to check flow rate?

The pump is a Jandy VSSHP270DV2A. The model number label is gone off the filter so I'm not sure what model number filter I have. I know it's in the range of the pictured specification label. Can I convert PSI to flow rate? It's currently running at about 15 to 16 PSI.

I was able to determine that my Hayward Filter is model number is DE4820. I will have to look at the inside controller next time I am at the property in order to answer the rest of your questions. Over the past weekend I tore the heater down only to discover that both the bypass valve and thermal regulator had failed. I have replaced both and expect that to resolve the issue I was having but need to get a new igniter as I inadvertently broke the one I had installed while pulling it apart to do a visual of the heat exchanger (which is fine but I pressure washed it since I had gotten that far into it). As you can see from the picture an O-ring from somewhere else in the system got tangled up in the bypass valve and the valve fell apart upon removal.
