First year Pool - Some issues while on vacation.

We got a 24' above ground pool in June. I found TFP right away on my first search about the aqua smarte system. I immediately went to TFP method after reading and bought the app. Everything has been perfect, I have even had a few friends with pools asking me about how I was keeping my pool so nice/clear. My family went to Maine last week, I threw in the stuff for the aqua smarte and asked my brother to test every couple of days and turn the chlorine up/down depending on what he got on the test since I had no baseline from never really using it. I ran it about a week before we left and had it figured out I where it roughly needed to be.
On the 3rd day of the trip he told me it felt and little slimy and turned it up swept, and vacuumed. On the 5th day he messaged me in panic because the jet hose blew a hole in it (pool less than 3 months old). The water hadn't been circulating, meaning no chlorine either. My pool is green and I am in the process of SLAM right now after ordering a new hose and getting it on this morning.

How long are these lines supposed to last?
Is it worth it to hard plumb the pool? Any advice on doing that? We travel a bunch and I want it to not be a concern going forward.
some pictures of the blown line, green pool, and how it looked before things went south on vacation.

Dang man, tough luck there. I would think it was supposed to last longer than 3 months, but I'd hard pipe it if it were me to prevent issues going forward (pipe is always better than hose). Just make sure you give yourself a way to winterize/drain it being in Cincinnati.

@NickB_Ohio, I'd also advise you to do some more research into your Aqua Smarte system and how it works to "chlorinate" your pool. There are many threads here on this topic that you can search for. I'd recommend a good Test Kit and converting over to liquid chlorine addition (household bleach no additives) or SWG (salt water generator) to maintain your FC levels. Pool school, ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry and Pool Math are your friends here to help through new pool ownership.

Here's a couple good threads on your Aqua Smart system. Just food for thought
Need help new pool. Should I use the aqua smarte system or

Aqua Smarte Mineral System - Further Reading

Like I said I don't use the aqua smarte. I use TFP, I was just on vacation and had to use it for the week I was gone.
