First year having to open the pool saltwater NJ

Rain does surprisingly little. Or. It does exactly proportionate as it should and everyone always overestimates the proportion.

you have an average depth of 5.1 ft thanks to your surface area, volume and maths. So give or take you have 61 inches average depth. One inch of rain, which would usually be alot at one time, will lower your salt/ cya / calcium / FC by 1/61. 3200 ppm of salt would lose 52, for example. Over time, it will add up of course, but it would take a whopper of a single storm, or even a terribly wet week to matter.

The other values which are much lower, will be nearly impossible to tell, even after several inches.

I did the overnight loss test and I got a FC of 5 this morning , CC of 0 again and last night my FC was 6.5

Do you all think I should do a slam while my cya is low ? what is the best route to do that ?

Thanks

10% or 12.5%. I used 2pk of 10% from home depot but walmart has 10% bottles cheaper as well I believe.
Is this it ? My local HD seem to sell them , so on the add calculator I use 10% bleach as the amount ?

According to this you add 3.5 gallons of 10% bleach (aka the pic ) and it will add 17 FC plus the 5 I have now to 22 for slam .

ok added 2.5 gallons should bring me up to a FC slam level of about 20-22 , I turned off the SWG , put my pump on to run 24
will monitor tonight / early tomorrow see the levels and add if needed, the water has been crystal clear the whole time so should I just keep testing the chlorine and after 24 hours do an overnight loss test again ?

Wait until you see 24 hours with 1ppm or less change in FC at SLAM levels before you do the
Overnight Chlorine Loss Test

Yup. With clear water you can start OCLTs. If you lose FC overnight, or have CCs over .5, the SLAM continues. Monitor the FC and keep it at SLAM level. Whenever it dips it loses efficiency. It's not the end of the world but it'll be your own doing that it took longer.

So my CC was actually a 0 , while failing the OCLT
