First Test Kit Results

Also general question. I'm not planning on using the pool any time soon but can you use the pool during the SLAM process or is that just for cleaning. During regular maintenance how soon after you add chlorine would you need to wait to use your pool or to ensure it's safe to use? Just wondering.

1) let the FC drift down on its own back to SLAM level

2) SLAM FC is less harsh than tap water, so it's safe to swim between min and SLAM for your CYA level, 15 mins after adding liquid chlorine. However. You need to be able to see bottom clearly enough for swimmer rescue (God forbid).

I just came over here this morning to scream that today is the first day in months that my pool has been crystal clear and I can see the bottom of the floor. Awwww Screaming!!!! I'm so happy and excited. Come on SLAM❣️😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I still feel like there is algae on the pebbletec and once I brush again it's going to get cloudy but nonetheless I'm still going to enjoy this moment and mini accomplishment 😜😁 Let me test me FC. I just can't thank Trouble Free Pools enough. THANK YOU so very much for all your help, guidance and answering my many questions❣️Screenshot_20240329_085426_Gallery.jpgScreenshot_20240329_085412_Gallery.jpg

OK. My FC is 15 ppm and CC 0.5. That means I only lost 1 ppm from the last time when I tested which was 19 hours ago. Does this mean I officially and successfully completed my SLAM?

Go one more day. If you get the same results tomorrow then yes, SLAM COMPLETE.

Yes that's a pass. But remember the effort that went into the start of the slam ? It's pretty easy right now by comparison. It's never a bad idea to hold SLAM for a day or two for insurance, being so easy to do so.

Evening. Hope you all had a wonderful Easter. I did the SLAM another couple days. Just tested water today and FC is 8 ppm and CC is 0.5. Should I now consider researching and checking the other numbers (TA and CH) that are out of balance. It's going to rain here shortly with heavy thunderstorms and possible hail. I tend to want to put chlorine in so it doesn't drop but think that's my old fear. On a funny note the pool is so crystal clear and gorgeous now ducks are popping up and I can't do critters. LOL 😂 I went straight to the group and searched 'Ducks' and read all the articles 😂😂😂. I called myself cleaning the patio and enjoying a cup a tea. I tried shooing, hollering, water hose which worked but he flew back 5 minutes later. LOL Anyway. I just need to check what's the next articles after SLAM.Screenshot_20240401_194604.jpgScreenshot_20240401_195243_Gallery.jpg

Log your water temperature so it can calculate your CSI. The rest looks fine.
