Fine debris not trapped by filter

Greetings, I have bits of my roof tiles, the little pebbly bits, in my pool. My vacuum picks them up easy enough but the filter doesn't catch them, at least a good amount of them. I can see them shooting back out of the filter discharge back into the pool fairly quickly after they're sucked up. This stuff gets in the pool mostly after it rains and the water runs off the roof. It doesn't go directly into the pool but it's close and there's no real way to use gutters to redirect the flow without flooding out the neighbors, as we're kinda packed in close. Is there anyway to filter these out? Thanks for any help.
