Filter Psi Reading, should it show at all times?

Hey guys, new pool owner, just getting my equipment turn on and going for the first time.
Answer might be obviously but I just wanted to double check.

The pump and filter are both on and primped and appear to be working as expected. I have the filter set to rinse and noticed the PSI reading shows movement every 2-3 minutes to about 10-ish and then drops back down to 0

Is it suppose show the psi reading at all times or just at a certain stage or the cycle?

I’m not sure of the right terminology to use so hopefully I’m explaining this correctly

Why is your MPV set to RINSE? That is used only as part of doing a backwash.

Normal setting for the MPV is FILTER.

Yes, there should definitely be a constant reading except when it's off or bypassed.

Is water splashing and sloshing around in your pump basket? If so, that is the reason for your psi fluctuation.......you are sucking air.
