I have a perfectly working Hayward VSP pump. However, what lacks is my ability to control it remotely. This is at my AirBNB and my pump is required to run at minimum speed to trigger the heater 24/7.

The only reason I'm considering the Intelliflo3 is the Wifi capability w/o the need of an additional controller. I would only need the 1.5HP model. Before I go dump $1500 into this, I would like to get some feedbacks from those that have them. How reliable is their app?

Dan,

The whole point of owning a VS pump is to run a slow as you can and still get the job done.. Plumbing size really has nothing to do with it..

I have two rent house pools that both have 3 HP IntelliFlo pumps.. The have been running just fine for over 12 years. Both pools have 1.5" plumbing.

You really only need to run fast enough to turn on the SWCG...

When I first installed the pumps, I almost had to touch them to make sure they were still running.. I run them 24/7, mostly at 1200 RPM, as I don't have a heater.. I'd probably have to run them at 1500 or so if I had a heater. My cost to run 24/7 is less than $20 bucks a month...

You should buy whatever you want, I'm just giving you my opinion based on my experience with VS pumps.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Thanks Jim, I will buy what's most efficient based on everyone's experience. Before this I was just combing through some threads about 1.5" plumbing, many recommend that at the pad, I can convert the 1.5" plumbling to 2" and leaving the underground plumbing the way it is. I think this is what I'll do if I get the 3hp which I will probably buy based on what you're sayinig.

so I just read through this line here. I have friends and family that are general contractor. I wouldn't have a problem with having them write me a workorder.

Bought this one here

I think Marty's referring to an EC prefix before the Pentair model number as here. It would be worth a call to the vendor you selected to ask about the warranty you'd be getting.

Yup just did exactly that, I asked them to hold off on shipping until I call them in the morning.

Wish I saw this posted in the bottom before ordering. I happen to be coming down there tomorrow and will only be about an hour from the store.
