We’ve finally chosen our builder and would love your feedback on the design! I'm located in Gilbert, AZ & will be the primary user of the pool (no kids). I’m really just looking for a pool to soak/lounge in mostly.

We've owned a pool before but this is the first time building one so I'm definitely nervous on getting this "right".

Here are the proposed specs:
24'x14'
3x4x5 (**I've seen on here that 3.5 is the recommended minimum?)
11,580 gallons
Baja shelf - 6x9, second step height 12"
2 deck jets
Pentair 520 cartridge filter
Pentair VSF pump
Pentair Revel Vac
Infloor cleaning system base w. 10 heads
Automatic water leveler
3 microbrite LED lights
1 aerator
Travertine pavers & coping

Appreciate any feedback!

Welcome to the forum!
If I had the chance to design a pool here in the desert it would be ===
Rectangular. Have benches on at least two sides such that you sit on them and the water comes to your shoulders. No tanning ledges, deck jets etc, never use the ones we have.
It would have an autocover.
It would have SWCG with a small heater and a Glacier Chiller. VS pump, large cartridge filter.
Fill water would be hooked to a soft water system.
Use a self contained robot when cleaning is needed.
I suggest you read through Pool Care Basics - Trouble Free Pool and even look at a few of our videos TFP-TV - Trouble Free Pool

3' is extremely shallow. I'd recommend 4' for the shallow end.

Pentair VSF pump
Get the IntelliFlo3

Pentair Revel Vac
Get a robot.

Infloor cleaning system base w. 10 heads
I wouldn't recommend an IFCS. Adds a lot of cost, complexity, and potential failure points to your pool. A robot will clean much better at a tiny fraction of the price.

3 microbrite LED lights
Make sure they all point away from the house/main seating area.

Definitely get a SWCG. Are you getting a heater or chiller? How many returns?

Thanks for the feedback! Good call on the in-floor cleaning; I’ll ask to have that removed. I don’t think I’ll need a heater (pool will get full sun and no deep end) but a chiller might be nice for AZ. I’m not sure what you mean by returns?

Hi Neighbor!

Have the exact model number of the equipment spelled out in your contract.
Post those model numbers here as well for input.

Change your location to Gilbert, AZ from Arizona. Several different climates in AZ that could affect the advice you get here and it's always better to be specific with location.
