Is there any downside to attempting to keep the fc level at the highest amount listed by pool math . My CYA has been running at around 80.

Based on that my fc target is 4 to 11. I have been keeping it between 10 & 11.5. See my test logs in pool math - they should be assessable.

If I do that for an entire season (next year ). Will the high fc bleach out the liner , destroy elastic in bathing suits or any other problems normally associated with too much chlorine.

I am asking this because my SWG is new and I’m still learning the TFP methods.

No harm at all as long as you keep it under the SLAM level for your CYA. As you can see from my avatar, I like keeping my chlorine on the high side and no ill effects to equipment, people, swimsuits, etc. to date.

No harm- its fine. The only issue is that the ph test is inaccurate at fc levels above 10ppm so this can lead to over dosing with acid. So let fc come down a tad before testing/adjusting for that
I like aiming for 10% of my cya or a scootch higher - its easy to remember & gives me plenty of wiggle room for teenage swimmers & whatever life throws at my pool.
I try to keep my cya 70-80 so I shoot for maintaining 8ppm but have been hanging around 9/10ppm since I got my new cell.
My ph never changes so it’s not something I have to worry with much.

gn,

Your target range is 6 to 11, not 4 to 11...

Running higher than your target of 6 to 11 is not a problem. :goodjob:

You never want to run below your low target of 6.

4 is a minimum number that you do not want to get near.. :(

Thanks,

Jim R.
