We are having a ton of trouble getting equipment, wondering how people have done with buying equipment on eBay? The hardest part to find right now is the pool filter.

Yeah, folks on ebay are mostly retailers or opportunists selling stuff above the going rate (?!)

The prices arent insane (like they were back a month or two ago) just not sure about some these "new" sellers that have the filters we need.

I was *thisclose* to utilizing a good chunk of my available credit and making several questionable eBay purchases when I had problems getting equipment recently. I was ok with needing to call my CC company to clear the fraud if need be. But at the last minute Intheswim came through (after trying several other places) and I didn’t have to go there.

I’ve had good luck with eBay. There’s a number of sellers on there that ‘specialize’ in pool equipment. (Often have “pool” in the username”). Like anything on eBay, read feedback, compare to other sources to make sure you’re not getting ripped off, use a secure payment method like PayPal in case of any issues. I wouldn’t have any issues buying there.

Any brand filter will work with any other brand of equipment..

Why do you want a DE filter?

I ask because I have two rent houses with DE filters and I look forward to the day they die, so that I have an excuse to replace them with large cartridge filters.

Dirt simple plumbing, No MPV to go bad or leak, No DE to screw with, and very low back pressure. I will never own another DE filter again.

I am trying to buy whatever the builder uses so I don’t have to screw with anything or hear anything from him.

I am just wondering what a filter has to do with the automation system.

The Filter has nothing to do with the automation.. You can use any brand of filter you want.
