Thoughts on this new Jandy valve

I bought 6 Jandy valves from Discount Pool Supplies Online | Pool Equipment & Parts 5 are fine & one looks like it is used or rebuilt. The surface is rough, looks like it is chipped from having the top popped off & the UPC symbol is smeared. I asked for an RMA and they told me to get lost. I'm simply concerned that I don't want to replumb my setup with a part that I don't trust.

I agree that does not look new. I guess it depends on how much you saved on the other 5. You could always do a charge-back.

"Items may be returned within 30 days of receipt by you.

Credit will be issued upon return of item(s) subject to the following terms: You must contact us via e-mail giving us the order date and item number and we will respond by the next 2 business days with an RGA (Return Goods Authorization) number.

No item will be accepted for return without this number.

We will indicate where the item should be shipped to, freight prepaid. Items for return must be UNUSED, in their original packaging, presentable for sale, and with all warranty cards, manuals, etc. Items which are drop shipped from the manufacturer are subject to the manufacturer's return policy."

Here is their return policy.
Returned items and refused items are subject to a 15% percent restocking charge and all shipping charges. Defective or warranty items are treated as warranty claims, not as a return. Orders refused at time of receipt are subject to freight charges both ways.

I would never buy anything from them again. I would also initiate a charge-back for a "SNAD". Significantly not as described. Effem. Keep everything too until and unless they pay for return shipping. Their lame return policy does not cover used items being sold as new.

Defective. Glue didn’t cause that….perhaps the rabid mongrel shop dog in the shipping department thought it was his new chew toy. They’ve left you no other option other than to stop payment through your financial institution.
