Dull hazy water doing a slam

Rechecked cya 3 times with your directions still getting a little under 40. Pool looking much better it's getting some sparkle back. Fingers crossed it's even better tomorrow. Haven't backwashed yet still debating if I should or just wait. Pic on left was Sat am, right is now so I def see improvement. 👀

I caved and went to the dreaded pool store for a new ladder .. was waiting for them to try to sell me calcium plus again for my cloudy pool. Everytime I thought about putting that ladder back in today even though I cleaned it I imagined some small algae lurking in the steps and I couldn't do it.

Passed OCLT again. Must have been tired when I added chlorine lastnight because I had a 17 1 hr later but still 17 this am. Oops. No cc. Pool is clear! I still see very small patches of brown/yellow stuff but I am not sure if its dirt from my trees or dead algae? Should I stop the SLAM today???

Normally I would say yes, you're done. The only hesitation I have is that 3rd pic with the green stuff. It might just be local area residue that settled down there. I get junk in the pool all the time. Are you able to touch it to see how it feels? It would be odd to see a patch like that as alive algae and not loose any FC overnight. I'm inclined to say the SLAM is over and go back to normal business unless you see something there we can't. Water looks fantastic.

Its brownish/yellow when I look at it. It's the same stuff I have been seeing in the morning just way less of it. More so on the side of the pool by my neighbors trees. I plan on getting in it later when we finish putting together this ladder. It does make me nervous to stop the SLAM with that gunk down there and I know my kids want to swim today but my youngest is under water more than above and even though I know it's ok to swim at SLAM levels it still makes me nervous with the kids. Would I be able to let the chlorine come down a little bit today, let them swim and then bump it up again if I need too?? Or is that going to ruin the SLAM if I decide to keep going with it? Maybe I can jump the rail real quick go under and grab some of this gunk and climb my way out 🤣🤣🤣

Sure. You've passed the criteria and we're not sure that debris you're seeing is even algae anymore. Let them have some fun. :swim: Toss some scrub pads in there and let them go nuts helping. :) If things take a turn for the worse later or over the weekend, you know what to do. :goodjob:

Ok I went under and looked at it. Some of it is dirt the other stuff I am not sure its dark yellow/brown. Couldn't pick it up with my fingers. I collected some in a syringe and its pale yellow. I'm going to go get real weird now and look at it under my son's microscope 🤣

Well my backwash was normal today. And I never did like microbiology not sure what I am seeing just a big brownish yellow spiky blob. And small purple maybe green bubbles. Probably need a real microscope to actually see it well. Wonder what the girls in the lab at my hospital I work at tomorrow are going to think when I bring them my cultured pool water and slides 🤣🤣🤣 I decided after we swam to bump it to 16 one more night just to be safe. I really want this stuff dead.

Sooo crossing my fingers but before work I walked around and peeked under the solar cover and did not see any algae or dirt at all. Hoping my husband gives me the same report when he pulls the cover off this am and gets a real look. Last night I found algae on the foam pad in my skimmer door gave that a good chlorine bath. The only place I haven't checked now would be my return jet/light and I don't even think its possible for me to check under it. Hoping the foam was the last place it was lingering.

Good news he saw no algae or dirt! Says it's clear down there. Can finally stop the SLAM. Might leave my chlorine a tad on the hot side this weekend though once it goes back down .. it's going to be 100 and 101 today and tomorrow 🥵 Thank you guys for everything!!

Water looks very nice. :goodjob:
Thank you for all your help!! When it first turned cloudy and teal weeks ago I went to the pool store and they told me it was my low calcium and I had copper ...which was from adding the algaecide they recommended days before. That is when I realized they knew nothing. Never going back. I've read everything I could on here and appreciate it so much. Can't wait to swim in a clear pool tomorrow in the heat!

Even after a storm this morning and just some leaf debri I think I am finally TFP clear ! FC coming down to a 10. My range is 3-7fc I think I will lean towards the 7 for now.
