Dull hazy water doing a slam

When you get a chance, could you validate your CYA and FC please? I think the last CYA was from Monday at 40?
I just rechecked the cya because I was afraid maybe I was wrong last time. I did it 3x with the same solution dot goes away at 38-40. Fc just checked 12.5 bumped it back to 16.

The dot on the test messes with me since I wear glasses but I am sure I still saw the dot above 40.
It can play tricks on your for sure. Here is my little CYA testing note if it helps:

CYA Testing:
Proper lighting is critical for the CYA test, so you want to test for CYA outside on a bright sunny day. Use the mixing bottle to gently mix the required amounts of pool water and R-0013 reagent, let sit for 30 seconds, then gently mix again. Recommend standing outside with your back to the sun and the view tube in the shade of your body at waist level. Then, begin squirting the mixed solution into the skinny tube. Watch the black dot until it completely disappears. Once it disappears, record the CYA reading. To help the eyes and prevent staring at the dot, some people find it better to pour & view in stages. Pour some solution into the viewing tube, look away, then look back again for the dot. Repeat as necessary until you feel the dot is gone. After the first CYA test, you can pour the mixed solution from the skinny view tube back to the mixing bottle, gently shake, and do the same test a second, third, or fourth time to instill consistency in your technique, become more comfortable with the testing, and validate your own CYA reading. Finally, if you still doubt your own reading, have a friend do the test. Don't tell them your numbers until they have completed their own testing, then compare the results.

I'm going to recheck the cya tomorrow with your steps to be double sure it got too cloudy this afternoon outside. Pool is looking clearer a little. Will wait and see if this algae is back on the pool floor as usual tomorrow am. I am starting to lean towards doing a mustard algae shock just to be sure. When would I be able to bump the fc up to that level if every morning the algae is back on the floor if it is mustard algae and then I wont pass the clear criteria???

Going to MA level is the absolute last step applied after passing the normal SLAM criteria. When someone increases the FC to MA level, it's only for 24 hrs. But again, you must complete the normal SLAM criteria first.

What if this stuff that appears at the bottom of the pool every morning doesn't go away? I washed the heck out of solar cover today so I am hoping that helps.

You still got algae with that crazy backwash water color. Dont worry about mustard algae right now, you gotta first get rid of the regular algae thats there. 😉

It was a good 2 min backwash and 1 minute rinse. I am thinking maybe I will backwash again tomorrow? Hope it's not that bad again.

Make sure you are brushing every time you see it so that it breaks the biofilm, your in great hands

We have been brushing 2-3x a day. I have been using my dolphin too... is it better to brush it or vaccuum it up in the morning? I considered vaccuming to waste tomorrow but I'll need extra water put in.

Passed OCLT again today. Water is looking better way less algae on bottom this morning. Continuing the SLAM. Theres no green in my site glass today but I think I will still backwash after I vaccuum.

Also today I noticed while Frank was vaccuuming all these little white flakes floating on the top. Is that dead algae? I can't get a good pic they are too tiny.
