Draining pool

You added 6 lbs. So you assume the CYA level is 30. If you want to target 50, add 20 ppm worth more.

It can take up to a week if added via the skimmer.

Is there a quicker way?

The green isn’t algae? Is iron ok? Part of the process? We just drained & refilled I hope not for a total loss?!

I’m repeating cya test now… at 50 it was blurry then 40 more blurry. Photo is at 30. I can still see black dot.
Does the test want the black dot to be completely gone?

When you do the CYA test, try this next time.

Once you have your solution ready, back to the sun, etc. Fill the vial to a line, say 80, lower the vial to your waist level and glance for the dot, you see it, add solution to the 70 line, glance, see it, repeat until you no longer see it with a glance. Then use the CYA value one step above the line you read. So if you stopped at 50, use 60 ppm CYA.

The vial is a non linear scale. So it is not reasonable to interpolate between the lines. Just use the whole numbers, such as 50, 40, 30, ....

You started with a full drain and fresh fill, correct? If you are confident of the pool volume, add more stabilizer. Add half now and wait a few days and check. Then add as necessary.
You show a SWCG. So you will want to get your CYA to 60 or 70 ppm.
