Drain pool or chem treat?

Side note: which vac head should I be using for vacuuming. The house came with the black one. And these three bolts, I suppose they’re for a diving board? Anyway to figure out which model it fits

When the FC starts to hold, or does hold you officially have the leg up on the algae. It shifts from a chemistry fight, to a filtering fight. It’s no longer growing (or exponentially at least), but it still needs to come out. Getting it out takes time, and drives everybody nuts after having visual progress all but come to a stand still.

Without the feel good progress we lose a lot of fighters. Do not slack or you are right back where you started. Brush and vac with whichever head works best. You’d think that one would be better for all but the 3 heads (you have 2) respond differently for everyone.

This is where the pool owner patience comes in. Babysit the filter and keep that FC on target. The military has surely taught you to hurry up and wait so you are well equipped for the struggle. :ROFLMAO:

So I’ve maintained a FC reading of 20 all day. I added a bit of DE in reference with the forum. The pressure went up to 23 and I’m going to backwash and repeat. Is it safe to add some before night time in case the pressure gets too high over night? I don’t want my filter to explode or anything 🤦🏽‍♂️

It is best to only add the DE when you can babysit the filter. Backwash when your filter pressure rises by 25% over clean pressure.

Morning check, FC holding at 20. Pool still looks light blue in the shallow end and sea foam green in the deep end. I added some de, brushed. And will check in 45 minutes to backwash and replace de. Guess this is the name of the game for the next few days. On the bright side, I actually can begin to make out my brush at the bottom of the shallow end. Could’ve swore I even caught a glimpse or two of the liner while brushing:)

So normally my psi floats at around 10-12. Today, it’s dropping down to 0 almost and then fluctuating back up. Any idea wha the issue could be? My skimmer flap closest to the filter/pump is always in the up position. Shouldn’t it be down? I’ve never really thought about it until now

First one is the skimmer furthest away from pool pump. Second is the one closest to pool pump/deep end skimmer. I popped it down and have ran a water house to it until I figure out the issue so it doesn’t get air in system. So far the psi is normal.

Today’s photos. You can really see the difference between shallow and deep end. You can also see the shadow of a concerned pup who’s trying to push his human into the pool.

I snapped this while vacuuming today. First glimpse of the bottom! Is it normal for the deeper end to take time clearing up/appearing a bit green before the shallow end

Yes the more water you have (deep end) will also have more icky stuff to see through. First you can see the steps, then the shallow end, then the deep end. All going to plan. :)

FC is holding pretty well. I lost about 1 a day now. Attached are updates for today. It’s getting a lot better. It’s hard to see in the pics but, vinyl liner is showing on shallow end. I can see the dip on the deep end
