A buddy of mine just purchased a new pool cleaner. He gave me his dolphin diagnostic 557006vs1a, he has an inground pool and I have an above ground pool. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. His wife just wanted to get away from the bag and go to the basket type. I wanted to make sure that this automatic pool cleaner would be okay to use. Thanks

It should. I would think you would not want it to try to climb the walls. Can you set it at floor only? Watch it very closely when you first use it.
I'm trying to learn about the robot cleaners and was wondering why you don't want the robot to climb the wall of an above ground pool.
Could you shed a light on this? Thanks!

Above ground pools are not real stable. The walls can move and sometimes the liner is not as tight at the top.
There are robots made specifically for above ground pools.

I have a Dolphin S300 that cleans the waterline and walls of my AG pool without any issue, and my pool is a cheap Coleman one from Wally World. Only issues I had with it originally was getting tangled around the A frame ladder, so it's removed when not in use, and it once tried to eat the thermometer on a string, so it's also removed except when I wanna read the temp.
