The shroud of the electronic wires coming out of the swivel (toward the control box) of my vacuum came out last time I removed it from the pool, exposing the insulated electronic wires inside. I was able to push it right back down so it looked right but I'm concerned it could lead to a live wire in the pool. Is there a right way to approach this repair or is it probably fine? Happy to add a picture if helpful. I'd like to avoid buying a new cable if possible ($180 plus time to put it on).

Thanks!

John,

The robot runs off of 24 Volts DC, so there is no 'live' wire from the safety point of view.

I'd just stick it back together.

A pic would be great as I am having a hard time visualizing the problem.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Here are two photos for context. @Jimrahbe Do these help clear it up?
I'm having a similar issue. I am planning to cut the wire then figure out how to get the swivel connector out of that section.
For info, that connector does unscrew into two separate halves.
In the meantime I have ordered a new cable, $199 but on back order..

The swivel separates at the highlighted section.

Just to be clear.. I have not done this..

I'd open the swivel and see if I could force the card back in, assuming it was still electricity connected.

See post # 5 for where it comes apart..

Thanks,

Jim R.

Anyone figure it how to fix this. I opened up the swivel but I have no idea if it’s missing a part. It’s as though the wire are longer and are not longer being held inside the swivel. Maybe a plastic part has since deteriorated and gone missing the held the wires tight
Having same issue lol
