Do I shock to close my pool

Hello, im trying to close my above ground pool. It is recommended on this site to shock the pool, not sure how to do that. Do i use bleach?

Welcome! Yes, regular bleach is what we use to increase the free chlorine level in preparation for closing. Make sure if you use laundry bleach, it is regular. Nothing splashless, scented, and avoid the Clorox brands. Make sure to use a TF-100 or Taylor K-2006C test kit to validate. See Test Kits Compared.
