Do I need to shelter the panel? SWG Install questions.

Does that mean it will last for less time than if I were to just run it for x hours per day? Or, does running it low equal to the same amount of 'use' ?
The 'hours' in a SWCG are generating hours. So if you run it at 100% for 1 hour, or 10% for 10 hours, that equates to the same generating hours.

I was hoping that was how it worked, thanks for confirming!

Forgot to mention - passed overnight loss test last night. Water is crystal clear. Salt is all dissolved. Can't wait til we have time to put this in - 95 degrees next week!! That's early for us! Water is still too cold for me though Lol.

We're in!!
With barely even a 1/2 inch to spare LOL

I set it on 75% and am also going to add some cal hypo to get it up to speed. Hopefully I'll be able to turn it down soon, but the manual says start there. Also going to start bringing my CYA up, we're going to be hitting upper 90s next week

The bubbles immediately started and got no error warnings. Although, from my return jet there is now a tiny vortex on the surface of the water... ?

Right now my CYA is at 30
My fc is at 1.5 (I know, not enough)

I'm thinking I will put 4lbs of stabilizer in to target 50 CYA, add enough cal hypo to come to 5, and then pool math says run SWG at 25% to generate enough to get to 8FC. That is the highest target for 50 CYA, but I assume that calculation isn't taking into account burn off/bugs/etc and in reality it will probably settle around 6-7?
Does this sound okay?

You need to get the FC up to speed via liquid chlorine now before you create algae problems and then maintain with the cell. On the cya start to get it up there but you'll need 70-80 pretty soon for the uv not to eat away at incremental FC gains.

Back with more questions!
Pool wasn't quite holding high enough at 25%, it was at 3 today when it needs to be minimum of 4. The heat index was 100, so that's probably why... I definitely need to order some more CYA. I bumped it up to 45%
But, I ran the full arsenal of tests and everything seemed good except CSI. According to TFP it's -(negative)1.50, and it says it should be -0.60-0.60. Do I need to get this adjusted?

FC 3
CC 0
PH 7.2
TA 40
CH 100
CYA 50
Salt 3650
Temp 79
CSI -1.50

My TA and PH are technically low, but that's just how it's always been. The PH is extremely stable, I rarely had to adjust it and if I do it's because it went down.

Sun just went down so performed another test. FC was 4. Which most likely means it was at least 5, 6 earlier today, I would guess?
4 is the minimum for my current CYA.
Should I increase the CYA yet? Or the SWG? Or does this seem okay? I imagine it will start climbing now that the sun is gone. There weren't any CCs.
This SWG doesn't allow for fine adjustments so next output would be 75%. I would prefer to have the pump on 24/7, too

Also, my water is so freaking clear. Does salt make it look better, too?

Pool was at 5.5 today. Which is good. However, I'd hope for a bit more at 45% - and it probably wasn't 4 again because it was in the 80s instead of upper 90s today.
PH still 7.2
Didn't test anything else
I have another 2lb of CYA dissolving now. Aiming to get to 70 but I'm gonna creep up on it.

I have so little to do at the moment...even my vacuum is bored :laughblue:
