Disco Pool

Here’s where our super duper narrow pool will be at. Mguzzy, I still look at your pool pics once in a while for inspiration. The Project Manager seems to be a nice young man. He answered all my questions, got the correct pool plan, and upfront about gunite the only sub-contractor part of the job. He didn’t look like he’s in a hurry to get out of our place so that’s a good sign. Even though it’s narrow, it’s nice to see how it looks like on the ground.

It will be great! We have the same pool minus the spa!

Dig day! Funny how it took two follow up texts today before I got a phone call saying it’s going to happen tomorrow. Glad that my 60 day timeline starts with it. Hope for this skinny narrow pool to be done by July. Oh, and that there are no hard dig and water. Fingers crossed. Got the Gatorades, donuts, croissant, and chips ready.

Done by 3 PM. Now I have to do the Kimkats method of going out and measuring it myself. Also, I asked for some form of a receipt. It’s a mystery how they don’t give receipts for such a big amount. Thanks again TFP for those great tips!

I fell ya vaex!! We had legit ground water concerns on the last build and if they hit it, We needed 4 well points drilled at $1k each. When that first 8 ft deep scoop came out with dry sand, it was like Xmas and the $4k savings paid for the free standing hot tub.

You can exhale now. :ROFLMAO:

Sorry for the weird orientation. Don’t know how to rotate it.

I think when we select to not use actual size that’s when it orients sideways. I’m really surprise how all these things fit into the backyard. Mguzzy, I kept on looking back at your pool pictures. Ours are the real skinny pools. The black bottom looks good on your pool. I decided on Blue Granite so it won’t get too hot during summer here in Discovery Bay, Ca. Otherwise, my wife is ok with Black Onyx.

Re-Bar Day! (4/21/21)
I didn’t even know they were coming. I was just surprised when I saw it through our security camera. All good though. Things even to be happening every other week.

Looks great! It's nice to see another narrow pool. I'm in California too, so another tiny yard. We are 10 days since gunite, waiting on tile and decking crews now. Ours is more of a pie shape. 28' long and 8.5' at the wide end and 4' at the narrow end. We did the steps there, so they get wider, second step is a sun shelf about 36" long. 4ft shallow end and 5ft deep end (water depth)

Gunite Day!

After not having any action during the month of May. Oh wait, there was some action, they replaced my Program Manager. Then they fired him and the previous one was reinstated. They told me about it after “letting go” of PM2.

And I’m switching/joining the Blue Smurf club after looking at all the galleries.

I’m curious about something though and need some expert advice. PM said tile this coming Monday. I’ve only cured the gunite for two days during that time. Is it ok to put tile that fast? PM said just don’t water on Monday. Thoughts and comments are greatly appreciated.

For all teachers out there, happy Summer break and thank you for all the hard work you’ve done this past year and a half!
