Had a couple heavy rainstorms in the last month which caused some dirt to wash into the pool. I've raised chlorine levels and have ran my pump 24/7 ever since but I think my pump and sand filter have done everything they're capable of without a little extra help.

Should I add floc or DE?

Any details on the method of choice would be helpful.

Hey Derek !! This one comes up more than anyone would like. Check these threads out while you wait for someone who's been through it, either on the doing or helping side. Google search results

Thanks. I've had mud issues before. This isn't that bad. I can see the bottom of the pool, though it is very hazy. It really just seems as though there are very fine particles that my sand filter can't contain.

Your sand filter should easily clear the pool. Have you been waiting until you get a 25% rise in filter pressure from clean before backwashing?

Can you post your test results?

My filter never really gets above 10 psi

These test results are 7 days old and I did add an extra gallon of chlorine to bring the water to slam level

A 40 CYA needs 16 ppm FC for SLAM level. SLAM Process

Regardless of your actual pressure, when it rises by 25%, backwash.

If you are not seeing any pressure increase, try DE added to the sand filter to make it 'dirty'. That helps filter out the fines.
