Deposit Placed for April 2018 start In-ground Viking fiberglass. Many questions!

Last week, we were predictably delayed by rain - but we start in ~2 hours! Will post pics.

Kinda excited kinda freaking out :)

A friend is doing the crane work and he's been sending pics of him setting pools all week. We are ready for a pool!

Fingers crossed today goes well!!

Excellent! I think it’s some sort of hazing ritual that you get delayed for a decent time due to rain [emoji6]

Excited and freaked out is exactly right. It will be amazing when it’s all done. Don’t forget to share photos!

Well, aside from delays things went... smoothly? Still can't get over that fact. Or that the pool made it down the drive it looked HUGE on the back of the truck.

Today we fill with water! Going to try some local concrete guy instead of PB's - the price difference warrants it and they've done pools in the past. Maybe some rain here at the end of the week but we're looking good for a memorial day open.

The black one was a little freaked out by it but the big guy definitely approves. Which is odd cause the black one is our swimmer. And one of the reasons we went with fiberglass instead of vinyl.

They will be back filling as they progress with that tiny aggregate piled to the right - guess they use that instead of sand now. We're having the water trucked in as we're on a well.

I am sure once there is water in it he will be all about the pool! Right now it is just something new and different!

Good job on having it thought out. Oh that water truck is going to set you back some. But best to not wear out your well pump!

Water is in! Construction crew is done. We're on to Electricians and Concrete then landscapers are coming back. Crazy what you can get done in 2 days. We're very happy with the crew and the work they did. Will update as events warrant :)

1st water from tanker:

Equipment pad - don't worry! We asked about the mineral filter and it's there as a "backup." We said go ahead and install it but won't use it. Builders suggested keeping it as an additional place for chlorine tabs if SWG has issues. We already paid for it so...

Fencing is to keep deer out until cover is on

I like the idea of having a place to put chlorine tablets just in case.........just do not put the mineral pac in.

That looks great! The water may be a little green but that will change as you balance it.

Well the contract states 4 weeks and they're taking every bit of it. The frustrating part was the pool sitting, filled, with no filter or chems, for 9 days :( Was looking at it filling up with leaves and debris so we broke down and picked up a m400. Here it is first run:
pool20.jpg

We filled a 5 gallon bucket with leaves, pollen and a dead frog. We also rescued a few frogs and turtles :)

Anyway yesterday we had the pumps primed and turned on (PB using their filter cart will swap later), starter chems, tracks for auto cover installed and grid for concrete. Inspection today and forms later this week - hopefully we pour too but guessing not until early next week. Good thing it was 90 yesterday! Ugh!

Nothing a little chlorine can't take care of!! Good work with the cleaner!!! BUT GURRRRRRRRRRRR on needing to do it at all! 9 day???????? WHY??????? oh well it is what it is and we can get it all fixed back up!

Well... it's been A Thing but we're back on track. Our pool sat from 5/14 until yesterday :( We had the poor concrete guys come out on Memorial Day to build the forms because the time-line has gone on too long. Had a loud "conversation" with the president of the pool co previous week in the hopes we'd make last weekend for an opening alas not to be. We are definitely on the radar now tho and will be swimming by this weekend. Or so I've been told.

When the Subs or the pool crew is here we're very happy with the work. It's just a matter of them finding time. We contracted with a company too far from our house I'm guessing. Will not make that mistake again.

Anyway - concrete was poured today! We had a nice hole in the weather and now a gentle rain tonight this worked out well.

YAH on getting that done!!! The rain will really help the concrete cure slower/better. You should "rain" on it if it does not rain tomorrow.

When will the equipment be started?

Do you already have your test kit?
