Continuous air bubbles coming from union side when pool is off.

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening!

Last week I started noticing that air bubbles were popping into the pump basket from the union side when the pool was off. It started out as one every five seconds and would increase or decrease based on the positioning of the lid. Now it is quite continuous and preventing the pump from fully priming. I had a pool professional come diagnose it and he stated it was the O ring. The pump was then fully priming. Now the bubbles continue and I can hear the faintest hiss where the union side connects with the pump basket. Any ideas on what it might be or what I should do to further diagnose?

Thanks!

You are referring to the union directly in front of the pump correct? Did you ensure the o-ring is seated correctly in the union groove and perhaps tried adding some pool lube to that o-ring? Also ensure the pump lid and drain plugs are well lubed?

Sorry for the late reply. Attached is a picture. The arrow is the direction where the bubbles are coming from. The circle is the origin of the hiss sound. As clarification, I don't know if the bubbles are actually coming from that direction, but I do know that the bubbles are originating from this side. IMG_5524 copy.jpg
