Concrete Walls Green

Hello Everyone,

We have finally figured out how to use our chloronator so we don’t have to keep adding pounds and pounds of Power Powder to our pool after this very hot summer.

However the algae still seems to be constantly clinging to the side of the walls. The water is extremely clear. Looking for a solution other than scrubbing the walls ever day by hand.

Thank you!

We highly suggest pool owners learn how bad puck use can be when the pucks also contain almost 50% stabilizer which builds up to the point where its *very* difficult to get enough chlorine in the water available to avoid and kill off algae.

I suspect your chlorine isn't high enough, and your algae has set it self up with biofilm over it to protect it from chlorine. Amazing how algae can do that :( That's why brushing is so important as it disrupts the biofilm covering and lets the chlorine at the green beast! :alien:

Power Powder has a mess of calcium in it which also can build up and if too high can cause scaling to the plaster.

Our TFP folks usually use either Liquid Chlorine (which contains no other additive) or a Salt Water Chlorine Generator which makes chlorine via electrolysis of salt in the pool. Believe it or not *all* pools contain salt as that's a byproduct of the chlorine puck/powder break down.

We also want owners to manage testing their pool water themselves with an appropriate test kit that contains the FAS-DPD powder Free Chlorine/Combined Chloramines test at higher levels than 10ppm. No one cares about your pool more than you, and our pools sparkle and are sanitized. How Clear is TFP Clear?
