compool to aqualink conversion

i have an old compool unit -

i want to upgrade to a Aqualink Rs8 - do i need to buy the whole enclosure, power unit or just the board/panel ?

I'm pretty handy and good at electrical work so will be doing it myself.

just need some guidance.

Why do you want to upgrade your Compool to an Aqualink instead of an EasyTouch?

Pentair has a Compool to EasyTouch Upgrade kit.

If you want to change to an Aqualink then you just remove your existing system and install a new Aqualink system.

wow Allen TY Sir : did not know that existed

does that come with the wifi/app addon ? or is that another module ?

they whole idea was to move away from Compool and to a more standard iAqualink approach for wifi connectivity

I also have a Pentair VS pump so this makes sense.

To add WiFi/app to a Pentair EasyTouch system you need to get the ScreenLogic add on.

Figure out all the costs involved in the upgrade and see if it makes sense to just install a new IntelliCenter system that has wifi/app builtin standard.

I recently changed from Jandy RS to Pentair automation after a lightning strike took out parts of it. Pentair is way better in my opinion. Plus they don't cut your warranty to zero for DIY and/or internet purchase.

If i do buy an Aqualink RS8 and convert from compool to Aqualink RS8 , then can i use the same compool transformer and power-center ? or do i have to re-buy the powercenter and the transformer and a whole new aqualink box ?

I did the Compool to Easytouch upgrade last month. Super easy. Took less than an hour and I was taking my time. Added ScreenLogic too. Couldn’t be happier.
