Cloudy brownish green pool

If you rid the floor of dead algae you can speed things up a bit. Get the slam level up circulate for an hour then shut pump off and let it sit a few hours or even over night so as much as possible will settle to the bottom. Then carefully vacuum either to waste or through the filter without vigorously moving the vac head. Watch for the filter pressure to rise fast then clean out cartridges and continue to vac till the complete floor has been covered. Then continue the slam.

It’s not that surprising. Most rainstorms give 1-3” of rain. When you compare to a 96” deep deep end it doesn’t really do much unless it washes a bunch of Crud into your pool.

Ok so today passed oclt for 2nd straight day. Cc 1.5 so still working on that. But biggest breakthrough is I can see the bottom even if a little cloudy and dirty. I know I have seen this answered before but it should now be safe to swim? The 11yo is jonesing

The 3 conditions for ending a SLAM are:

1) pass OCLT
2) CC < 1
3) water is perfectly clear

I think he's saying he passed #1, but not 2 and 3. Those are distinct conditions outside of the OCLT.

Am I understanding this correctly, FC doesn't budge and the CC is 1.5 . The fact there's CC means it's working/burning off something and it would be the chlorine doing it so how can it be 12 in the morning.

I’m going to do the cc test again when I get off work. I could have possibly gotten that one wrong as it don’t do it often. The fc I tested again at 10am and still 24 drops so pretty confident in that test

Ok new house rule of no testing before coffee. Just checked and cc is either 0 or .5 it seemed to slightly turn pink but one drop back to clear. Will be testing oclt again tonight and cleaned the filter so fingers crossed only 1-2 more days of slam.

I have to say this site is amazing I have accomplished more in 5 days than 5 weeks of diy/pool stored. Everyone is great answering questions and not making me feel like an idiot
