I've always used Robelle but just discovered the Clorox D.E. The Clorox is almost 1/3 cheaper, and I'm trying to figure out why. Has anyone used the Clorox D.E. for pool and is there any reason I should not use it?

I see you listed your some pool details in your profile:

The amount of DE required is dependent on the size of your filter in square feet (of grid surface area). Your FNS might be 24, 36, 48, or 60 sq ft. When doing a full filter cleaning, your filter would take one-pound of DE for each 10 sq ft. of surface area. For backwashing, you would add 80% of that amount.
