Clarification on recommended CYA/FC

So, what is THE recommendation from TFP for FC?

For a SWG, I’ve noticed the following recommendations for target FC based on % of CYA:

Pool math app: 7.5%
CYA/FC chart in pool school: 7.5%
Chemgeek thread: 11.5%

So what is the official word? Thanks!

That thread is quite old. Something that's always drawn me to TFP is the ability to reexamine the numbers and adjust recommendations as experience and further data see fit. So much of the pool industry is run on the tenant "that's just the way it's done". TFP advice is "this is based off of the best available data, which you can read for yourself if you'd like".

The FC/CYA Levels and PoolMath are based on the currently best available data. That said, there is no danger in keeping your FC at 11.5% if you'd prefer as it is still well below the SLAM level threshold.
