Here I was, a happy boy with his happy toy, ready to take on the new world of SWG….
I installed my new Core Control 55 by circupool today. All in all a simple install procedure. Chop some PVC, throw a couple of tapcons in the wall, hang the control unit, and wire the sucker into the pump circuit. Under 30 minutes if you have tools at hand. But then…
The unit won’t talk! I turn the pump circuit on, and my pump hums but I can’t get any indicator lights out of the SWG control. I DO get some sign of life, as the wifi brick sits there and flashes (quickly at first, and then more slowly after a minute or two), so something is working. Looks like the salt cell works too because the cell is making little hazy bubbles like crazy, and the bubbles stop when I unplug the cell cable from the control board. Pull out my amateur sparky toolkit and lo and behold I do have 240V going into the unit at the entry terminal block under the user service panel. The instructions say the unit is 120-240V auto-detecting, so I don’t think there’s anything else to do.
But no LED lights. No control ability. I can’t find the unit on Bluetooth, and the connection steps in the user manual and the app are a total non-starter. I usually resist buying new products and I hate to imply there’s something wrong, but it sure seems like this one is DOA.
For reference my units build date is Dec. 2024 and batch #3019077. I’ll call support tomorrow and see what they can tell me. Support telephone line closed too early for me today. Will report back. Hopefully before I leave the country on Sunday.
