Thank youI'd call that 7.8 -- it's definitely redder than the 7.6 block, and not as deep red as 8.0. Might be 7.9, but doesn't matter much for our purposes.
It looks like your "Add Chemicals" entries are getting saved, but not the "Log Test Results". You can click your name next to a post and then the blue "PoolMath Logs" button in your profile to check what's being saved/shown to others.
#preach. Far too many people think that once a week is good enough for the pool guy so that’s all they need too. But the pool guy spikes the FC so high that it’s *hopefully* ok still next week. Then they talk to their friends that don’t manage their pools either and shock them weekly to play catch up. If you need to shock a pool or a person, it’s cuz they were DOA.You have to understand that FC is a consumable item
Sunny day in 70s , no swimmers, super clean zero debris.Sunny Day? Swimmers? Debris in the pool???
You have to understand that FC is a consumable item. It needs to be refreshed daily, either with liquid, or a salt water generator. The sun burns off chlorine also.
How are you testing? Which test kit? fCan you tell me:
FC
CC
pH
TA
CH
CYA
salt level is applicable

It is with an autocover. But I do not believe you every actually followed the SLAM Process to completion.Isn’t adding 2gallons of liquid chlorine a day a lot unless I have a problem?
According to pool math app, 1 gal only raises FC by 3ppm. (using 10% LC) So you could be losing 4ppm a day as you only have 40-50 CYA. Do you have it covered all day? if so, you may have algae hiding.Sunny day in 70s , no swimmers, super clean zero debris.
33,000gal cholrine pool with auto cover. Isn’t adding 2gallons of liquid chlorine a day a lot unless I have a problem?
taylor k2006-c
FC- O
PH 7.4
ALK 310
CH 350
CYA 44
No I did not do the slam. I just added the 2 gallons per day until Taylor kit came in then I stopped for one day to see if it would drop much and it went from 5.2 FC to zero in 24hours so I added 3 gallons to get back on trackIt is with an autocover. But I do not believe you every actually followed the SLAM Process to completion.
I uncover during the day for atleast 6-8 hours then after I add cholrine I try to leave uncovered for 2 hours minAccording to pool math app, 1 gal only raises FC by 3ppm. Am I reading it correctly on my calculator? Says for SLAM I need to keep FC at 17? So I need to add 5 gallons per day? For 33,000gal pool. Does that sound correct to you?It is with an autocover. But I do not believe you every actually followed the SLAM Process to completion.
We had it built last year. 1st year I followed pool store and everything was great but I think it was because it was brand new pool. Then I realized they we’re screwing me so I found Trouble free pool. And no I’m learning as much as possible. Any idea on cost to convert to salt water?Nalley I looked but couldn’t find it….. is this pool new to you ? Or are you just now getting around to wanting to maintain it yourself properly ?
Either way, you’ll be using a gallon + daily, even with the cover. 33k is a stupid big pool. I had 35k and went right to a Salt Water Chlorine Generator (SWG). With the amount of bleach you will be using, you’ll save a good bunch long term and have none of the jug lugging. My napkin math estimated I saved at least double by going SWG. When I needed more FC than I was already producing, I walked out back and pressed a button.
Food for thought.
I read and watched viedo. Little confusing. My CYA was 44 and I did pool math and said 17ppm so 5 gallons a dayYour CYA is 50. Your SLAM level FC is 20 ppm. Read the SLAM Process
