Why do you think you need a CV on the suction side of your pump?

In theory, the pump should stay full without a check valve.. What have you tried to solve the issue??

i just thought that pump being above water line will dump water back into the pool due to gravity...but what you're saying is that if the system doesnt have any leak, water should stay where they are??

Yes, the water should not leak back into the pool. My pump is above the pool water line.

Kind of like putting your thumb on a straw and pulling it out of a glass of water.. The water stays in the straw unless you take your thumb off the end of the straw..
When you shut off the pump do you hear any sounds that might be an air leak??
